“Sub-regional Innovation Policy Outlook 2020: Eastern Europe and South Caucasus” was launched

The results of the “Sub-regional Innovation Policy Outlook 2020: Eastern Europe and South Caucasus” (IPO) were presented on 25 November 2020 at a high-level webinar opened by Ms. Olga Algayerova, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).

The IPO is a pilot UNECE flagship project. It supports the sub-region composed of six countries  - Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and the Ukraine — through a concerted, systematic and comprehensive assessment and comparison of the scope, quality, and effectiveness of innovation policies, institutions and processes across countries with shared economic, structural, legacy and institutional features. The IPO complements international composite indices measuring innovation inputs, outputs and performance by looking more closely at the role that policies and institutions play in promoting innovation.

The partners of UNECE in implementing IPO in Belarus are the State Committee on Science and Technology and Belarusian Institute of System Analysis and Information Support of Scientific and Technical Sphere

The IPO publication is available here.

Presentation of the IPO results and recommendations for Belarus is scheduled for 17 December 2020. The details will come soon.
